Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about working with limestack.
We know the questions you'll have before starting an engagement with an offshore agency. Here are honest, clear answers — no marketing fluff.
About limestack
Who we are and what we do.
limestack is an offshore digital transformation agency delivering software engineering and digital marketing under one accountable delivery team. We serve startups, SMEs, and enterprises across 9 industry verticals, delivering everything from website builds and custom applications to SEO, paid media, and offshore engineering teams.
limestack operates as a fully distributed offshore delivery team. Our delivery specialists are based across South and Southeast Asia, with client-facing account management available in GMT+0 to GMT+3 time zones. We work asynchronously and synchronously depending on client preference — most clients run a hybrid model with one weekly video sync.
limestack has been delivering client projects for over 8 years, with our current team structure and branding formalised more recently. The founding team has combined delivery expertise across software development, digital marketing, and offshore team management spanning more than a decade.
We serve 9 core industry verticals: E-commerce & D2C, Healthcare / MedTech, Real Estate, Startups, SMEs, Enterprises, Food & Beverage, Education / EdTech, and Professional Services. See our Industries page for detailed case study examples in each sector.
Yes. Our team is built to serve clients at every stage — from pre-seed startups building their first product to $50M+ enterprises scaling their offshore engineering function. We adapt our engagement model, team size, and process overhead to match your stage and complexity.
Pricing & Commercial
How our pricing and contracts work.
Project pricing varies significantly based on scope, complexity, and team composition. A standard 5-page marketing website starts from $3,000–$5,000. A custom web application might start from $15,000. Offshore team retainers start from $4,000/month. For a precise quote, book a discovery call — we'll return a written scope and pricing within 48 hours.
Both. For well-defined project scopes, we offer fixed-price contracts with milestone-based billing. For evolving scope, ongoing retainers, or offshore team models, we use time-and-materials. Most clients start with a fixed-price Phase 1 build and move to a monthly retainer for ongoing iteration.
For project-based work (websites, custom apps, builds), there's no minimum term — we scope it as a fixed deliverable. For ongoing retainers and offshore team models, we ask for a minimum 3-month initial commitment, after which engagements move to rolling monthly terms with 30-day notice periods.
Fixed-price projects use milestone billing — typically 40% upfront, 40% at mid-delivery milestone, and 20% on final delivery. Retainer and T&M engagements are billed monthly in advance. All invoices include a detailed breakdown of work completed in the billing period.
Yes — we publish indicative packages for our most common service combinations on our Packages page. These are starting points for scoping conversations, not hard limits. Every engagement is scoped to your specific requirements.
Process & Delivery
How projects are run and delivered.
For most project-based engagements, we can begin Sprint 0 within 3–5 business days of contract signing. For offshore team setups that require specialist hiring, lead time is typically 2–3 weeks. Discovery calls can be booked same-week via our contact form.
We run structured 2-week sprints with async daily standups, mid-sprint check-ins, and sprint review calls. Every sprint ends with a demo and written sprint report. Full project visibility is maintained in shared tools at all times. See our Process page for a detailed breakdown.
Yes, through a lightweight change request (CR) process. Any scope additions are estimated, written up, and signed off before they're added to the backlog. This keeps scope, timeline, and budget aligned throughout — no surprise invoices or timeline slippage from undocumented changes.
Every deliverable goes through our internal QA checklist before client review: cross-browser testing, mobile responsiveness, Lighthouse performance audits, WCAG accessibility checks, and functional QA. You review clean releases — not rough builds. QA is included in every scope, not an optional add-on.
Yes. We offer structured maintenance and support retainers covering hosting management, security updates, monitoring, bug fixes, and ongoing development. Most project clients move to a maintenance retainer after launch. See our Maintenance & Support service for details.
Team & Structure
Who you'll be working with.
No. All delivery is completed by our in-house team. We never subcontract to freelancers or third-party agencies. Every specialist on your project is a limestack employee or long-term contracted team member, which means consistent quality, accountability, and knowledge retention across your engagement.
Every engagement has a named Delivery Manager or Account Manager as your primary point of contact. You'll also have direct access to the technical lead on your project. We don't route everything through sales or account management — you have real access to the people doing the work.
Team composition depends on your project scope. A typical website build involves a project manager, 1–2 frontend engineers, and a QA specialist. A full offshore pod for a SaaS product might involve 6–10 specialists across engineering, design, QA, and delivery management. We'll propose team composition in your discovery scope document.
Yes. One of the core advantages of our offshore model is elastic team scaling. For long-term retainer clients, we run quarterly capacity planning reviews and can add or reduce team members with 2–4 weeks lead time depending on the specialist type. Scaling down requires 30 days' notice.
Communication & Collaboration
How we stay in sync across time zones.
Our delivery teams primarily operate in IST (UTC+5:30) and SGT (UTC+8). Account managers are available for calls from 8am–6pm GMT. Most clients run a hybrid model: async daily communication with one or two scheduled video syncs per week. We adapt to your preferred working hours and communication style.
We adapt to your preferred tooling. Most clients use JIRA or Linear for engineering tasks, Notion for documentation, and Slack for daily communication. We also work with Asana, Monday.com, and Microsoft Teams. For clients without existing tooling, we recommend and set up a clean JIRA + Notion + Slack stack during Sprint 0.
You'll have real-time visibility in the shared sprint board at all times. In addition: daily async standups in Slack, a written sprint report every two weeks, and a monthly strategy session for long-term retainer clients. You'll never need to chase us for an update — we push updates to you proactively.
Yes. We encourage direct async communication between clients and technical specialists via shared Slack channels. For larger enterprise clients who prefer a managed communication model, we route all communication through the delivery manager. We adapt to whatever works best for your team.
Technical Questions
Code ownership, IP, and technical specifics.
You do — fully. All code, design assets, content, and documentation produced during your engagement are your property. Intellectual property assignment is explicitly stated in our standard contract. There are no licensing clauses, vendor lock-ins, or ongoing royalty arrangements on work we've delivered.
Yes. Security is built into our delivery process, not bolted on at the end. This includes: secure credential management (no hardcoded secrets), HTTPS enforcement, input validation and SQL injection prevention, OWASP Top 10 reference for web applications, dependency vulnerability scanning, and regular security patch updates in maintenance retainers.
Yes. We regularly take over existing codebases — either for ongoing development, refactoring, or as a platform for new feature work. Our onboarding process for existing projects includes a codebase audit, documentation review, and a technical discovery call with your existing team or the outgoing developer to ensure a clean handoff.
Yes. All project deliverables include technical documentation — code comments, README files, deployment notes, and where applicable, a living Notion documentation hub for the project. If you're taking the project in-house at the end of an engagement, we produce a comprehensive handoff document covering architecture, deployment processes, and ongoing maintenance tasks.
Offshore Working
Questions about working with an offshore team.
Cost efficiency is the most obvious reason — offshore teams typically deliver 40–60% cost savings versus equivalent local resource. Beyond cost, limestack's offshore model offers a full in-house team (not a freelancer marketplace), faster scaling capacity, and 24-hour time zone coverage for faster delivery cycles. The trade-off is time zone gap, which our async-first process is specifically designed to eliminate as a friction point.
We sign mutual NDAs as a standard part of every engagement contract. Our team members are bound by confidentiality agreements as part of their employment or contractor terms. For clients with specific data residency or GDPR requirements, we adapt our tooling, storage, and processing arrangements to ensure compliance.
We have a structured quality escalation process. If a deliverable doesn't meet the agreed specification, we fix it at no additional cost. Our QA process is designed to prevent this — but in the rare case of a quality issue, it's resolved quickly and transparently without billing disputes. Our retention rate reflects this: the majority of our clients are long-term engagements.
We've delivered work for clients across the UK, US, Australia, UAE, Canada, Singapore, and multiple European markets. We're comfortable with different legal frameworks, payment systems, and business communication styles. Contact us with your location and we'll give you a direct answer on any country-specific considerations.
We accept bank transfers (SWIFT/SEPA), Wise, and Stripe card payments. We invoice in USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, or SGD depending on your preference and location. Payment terms are Net 7 for most retainers and Net 14 for project milestone invoices. We'll confirm the best payment arrangement during the contracting stage.
